About Judy

Judy Willner has lived in Philadelphia and the western suburbs her entire life. Since she was a child she has always wanted to be a teacher and is now in her thirty-third year of teaching. She has been married to her wonderful husband, Harry for thirty-one years and they are the proud parents of two sons; Neil and Avi. Besides teaching reading, Judy has also taught religious studies in her synagogue for almost twenty years. This is what Judy has to say about being an educator: "Teaching has been my passion for my entire life, starting with playing school before I even went to school. When I graduated in the early 70's nobody was hiring teachers and I was devastated. I was actually a secretary after graduation . One Friday at the end of September a second grade teacher quit, I was offered the job and my teaching career started in Camden, NJ that Monday. I've been doing it ever since and can't imagine doing anything else. Though teaching is my passion, being an author has always been my dream. I've entertained my sons and my students with original stories and poetry for decades - instilling a love in them for books, learning and creative writing. With the publication of "How My Sun Got It's Smile, my dream has finally come true."

About Meloni

Meloni Kinckner grew up in Southern New Jersey and has loved art her entire life. She now lives in Oreland, Pa with her husband, Stuart and dog, Ozzie. This is what Meloni has to say about art in her life: "My experiences with the arts as a child were rich and abundant. The Arts were infused in both my social life and my home life. I grew up surrounded by artistic people, whose talents had a great impact on me. My Grandmother always had arts and crafts activities for us to complete while sharing time together. My Uncle Ron played the guitar and we often went to see his band perform at block parties and outdoor festivals. I was always given artistic gifts for my birthday and Christmas. Paints, markers, clay, beads, looms and sketchpads were always a part of my repertoire. As far back as I can remember, I've always had some type of project that I was working on. This is in great deal credited to my parents for providing me with the materials, experiences and encouragement to pursue my love of the arts. And now that I am an adult, I have chosen a career in the Arts; teaching and sharing my love for creating with my students. My greatest achievement will be to impart this passion for art in my students."
